grass flashing in various colors
as the title explains i am experiencing a problem. the grass(not the ground itself) gives me a disco effect, sometimes it looks normal, only to start flashing in red, i zone and there the grass stats flashing in black, zone again and its disco with white...you get my point.
Im running an ATI Radeon 9200 (not the best i know but it can still feed some good graphics) i got the latest drivers and catalyst version for it, no change, i tried changing the quality in game and also no change. the grass just dont like me
anyone else had this problem? any way to fix it cause its starting to annoy me a lot

It might just be your card overheating or even broken, most cheap radeon 9200 dont even have fans which doesnt make them very good for hot game pc's. Don't forget that card is probably the lowest of the lowest end you can get atm, maybe upgrade?

Yup, I get it too, since the Dragon Festival I think (at the time I thought it was part of the festoon decorations, lol). Here is a pic of the effect.
Ofc it must have to do with the card. I too run an old 128mb ASUS A9250 (ATI Radeon chip) and only get this glitch when running GW at the lowest graphics setting. Sliding the bar a bit higher fixes this problem, but spawns a bunch of others permafix: better card (imo)
Good thing the bloody grass doesn't bother me too much.

graphics are good, card isnt overheating, i can run perfectly lag free and fine on max quality settings :P (besides the grass disco ofc)
im aware a better card is probably gonna make the problems magically disappear but atm thats not possible
guess ill have to live with it for now then :P

I have that same problem. i may actually have the same card as you do(lol not sure but most likely). Its probably because the card isn't very new, but for me its only for like a second and then it goes back. annoying yes, but i'm not getting a new card just for some grass. If i get anything new it'll be a whole new comp as this one is just getting way too old.

I have the same problem.
Try using the -noshaders command. It works for me, but makes everything else look like crap, so I just endure the flickering grass, lol.
My theory is it's because my (our?) card doesn't fully support DX9.

You're quite right, it doesn't I've just checked the card box, it says "Powerful Features: Complete DirectX 8.1 & OpenGL support"
*cries a little* not getting a new one tho
Edit: hmmm, I wonder it this could be the reason my game crashes at random... a few times a day
